A Figure Met in a Shaded Wood

"There is a rumor that if you are walking the path at twilight on the night of a waning moon, a figure might appear at a camp by the side of the road."

A Figure Met in a Shaded Wood is a piece of interactive fiction that is surrounded by the language of fairy tales, and steeped in the myths and stories of fortune telling. It was an exploratory piece that was created in response to a discussion of the role of choice in games. With it, I have tried to evoke a certain contemplative experience, asking the player to be swept away into this fairy tale and pay close attention to the choices they make. It is intended to be played multiple times, to compare outcomes.
